Conflict of interest, stated plainly

Closer Capital Reviews is paid by Closer Capital when a reader applies through this site (see our advertising disclosure). That is a direct financial stake in a page asking whether Closer Capital is a scam, so everything below is built on records you can check yourself: the public Trustpilot and Facebook reviews, and what Closer Capital publishes on closercap.com.

Short answer: no evidence of a scam

No. We found no evidence that Closer Capital is a scam. It is a real operating business funding brokerage at closercap.com, founded by Ryan Stewman, that publishes a funding range of $25K to $5M across 7 programs and says a person reviews every file. It is a broker, not a direct lender: it places your file with a lending partner, and that partner sets the final rate, term, and fees. Its public reviews are mixed, and the 1-star reviews are mostly about the CEO's social media posts rather than about a loan.

Closer Capital states it is a commercial finance broker that does not directly provide loans, and that its lending partners make the final lending decisions (per Closer Capital's Disclosures page).

What the Closer Capital complaints actually say

As of October 2026, Closer Capital's Trustpilot profile shows a TrustScore of 2.5 out of 5 from 12 reviews: five 5-star and seven 1-star. Of the seven 1-star reviews, six object to CEO Ryan Stewman's personal social media posts, which those reviewers describe as offensive. One of those six, from a reviewer named Kris in January 2026, also calls the lending predatory and the management unprofessional, without describing a transaction. The seventh, from May 2025, calls the company's leadership racist, also without describing a transaction. None of the seven describes applying, being funded, paying a fee, or a contract dispute. Closer Capital has not replied to any of the 12 reviews.

We summarize the 1-star reviews instead of quoting them, and the characterizations above are the reviewers’, not ours.Read every review on Trustpilot to judge them yourself.

The other side of the record

The five 5-star Trustpilot reviews and all 5 Facebook reviews (all 5 stars, November 2023) describe the funding process itself, with speed and a responsive human contact as the repeated themes. We reproduce those in full on ourCloser Capital reviews page. Seventeen reviews across two platforms is a small sample either way.

How a company’s leadership behaves in public is a fair thing to weigh when you choose who handles your financing. It is a different question from whether the company is a scam, and on that question the complaints contain no transaction for us to check.

Red flags we checked

The standard warning signs of a fraudulent or predatory lender, checked against what Closer Capital publishes. Every row is something you can verify yourself onCloser Capital’s Disclosures page orclosercap.com. Where we could not check something, we say “not verified.”

  • Upfront fees before you are funded

    No red flag found

The prequalification form is free to submit. We have not seen evidence of a fee charged before funding. Lender fees can still apply at closing; see written terms below.

    Company claim

Closer Capital states it is compensated by its lenders, which lets it offer its services at no upfront cost to borrowers.

  • Guaranteed approval

    No red flag found

Closer Capital publishes a baseline (1+ year in business, $100K+ annual revenue, 600+ credit score) rather than a take-anyone pitch. Its site has an "Instant Approval" calculator page; treat any instant result as an estimate, not an approval.

    Company claim

Closer Capital states submitting a pre-qualification or application does not guarantee approval or funding.

  • High-pressure sales tactics

    Not verified

Not verified. We have not observed Closer Capital's sales calls. None of the 1-star reviews describes a sales interaction at all, and none of the positive reviews we reproduce mentions pressure, but that is a small sample.

  • A real address and phone number

    Not verified

closercap.com lists a street address in Plano, Texas (5308 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093) and a phone number in its site footer. We have not visited the address or confirmed what kind of office it is.

  • Broker vs lender disclosure

    Disclosed by the company

Disclosed. Closer Capital's own Disclosures page names it as a broker, which matches how this site describes it.

    Company claim

Closer Capital states it is a commercial finance broker that does not directly provide loans, and that its lending partners make the final lending decisions.

  • Terms in writing before you sign

    Disclosed by the company

Closer Capital's Disclosures page says actual rates and terms are provided in your loan offer. We have not reviewed a real offer or loan agreement ourselves.

    Company claim

Closer Capital states lender fees (origination fees typically 1% to 5% of the loan amount, plus possible underwriting, processing, and other fees) are disclosed in the loan agreement before closing, and that you are under no obligation to accept an offer.

Source: Closer Capital's Disclosures page. We have not independently verified this figure.

  • Licensing

    Not verified

Not verified. Closer Capital's Disclosures page says its lending partners are licensed where they do business and that license numbers are available on request. We have not checked a license number. Ask for the lender's name and license number and look it up yourself.

How to protect yourself with any funding broker

These steps apply to Closer Capital and to every other lender or broker you talk to.

  1. Do not pay anything before you see a written offer

Legitimate lender fees, such as origination fees, are normally listed in the loan agreement and taken at closing. A demand for an application fee, a "processing deposit," or a gift card before any funding is the classic advance-fee scam pattern, whoever it comes from.

  2. Get every term in writing

Before you sign, you should be able to see the funded amount, the rate or factor rate, the APR if the product discloses one, the term, the payment amount and frequency, every fee, any prepayment penalty, and any collateral or personal guarantee. If a number was promised on a call, ask for it in the document.

  3. Find out who the actual lender is

With any broker, ask which lending partner is behind your offer. Look that company up separately, and ask for its license number if your state licenses commercial lenders or brokers.

  4. Check the complaint databases yourself

Search the company and the lender name in the CFPB complaint database, your state attorney general's office, and the Better Business Bureau. A quick search of the name plus "complaint" also surfaces review sites. Read the negative reviews, not just the star average.

  5. Confirm you are dealing with the real company

Scammers borrow real brand names. If someone contacts you claiming to be Closer Capital (or "Capital Closer"), confirm that links and email addresses point to closercap.com before you send bank statements or tax returns.

  6. Do not sign under a deadline you did not set

An offer that expires in an hour is a pressure tactic. Closer Capital's own disclosures say you are under no obligation to accept an offer, so take the time to compare it with at least one other quote.

Closer Capital scam and complaints FAQ

Is Closer Capital a scam?

Why does Closer Capital have bad reviews?

Most of them are about the CEO, not a loan. As of October 2026, Closer Capital has a 2.5 out of 5 TrustScore on Trustpilot from 12 reviews, five 5-star and seven 1-star. Six of the seven 1-star reviews object to CEO Ryan Stewman's personal social media posts, which those reviewers describe as offensive, and one also calls the lending predatory and the management unprofessional. The seventh calls the company's leadership racist. None of the seven describes applying, being funded, paying a fee, or a contract dispute, and Closer Capital has not replied to any of them. All 5 Facebook reviews are 5 stars.

Is Capital Closer the same company?

"Capital Closer" is a common word swap in searches for Closer Capital, the business funding brokerage at closercap.com founded by Ryan Stewman. This site reviews that company. If someone contacts you using the name Capital Closer, confirm that their website and email addresses are on closercap.com before you share any documents.

Is Ryan Stewman legit?

The identity and business signals we could check hold up. Ryan Stewman is the named, public founder and CEO of Closer Capital, a real operating company at closercap.com, the company publishes 19 years of founder experience in finance, and he has been featured in Forbes, Inc., MSN, HuffPost, and Entrepreneur. He is also the subject of most of the company's 1-star Trustpilot reviews, which object to his personal social media posts rather than to a funding deal. Whether that conduct matters to you is a fair personal judgment; it is not evidence of fraud.

Does Closer Capital charge upfront fees?

We have not seen evidence that Closer Capital charges upfront fees. The prequalification form is free to submit, and Closer Capital states it is compensated by its lenders, which lets it offer its services at no upfront cost to borrowers. Lender fees can still apply: Closer Capital states lender fees (origination fees typically 1% to 5% of the loan amount, plus possible underwriting, processing, and other fees) are disclosed in the loan agreement before closing, and that you are under no obligation to accept an offer. Get every fee in writing before you sign, and do not pay anything before you have a written offer.
